Question Black Pearl Emblems

I have found a sweet deal on the Black Pearl Emblem Package on the net. The part number listed is PT557-8901B. I have called two stealerships in town and they say this is not a good number. The sit states that the package is for a 2000-2001 model year. I was wondering if any one might be able to tell me if this emblem package would work on my '96. I am concerned about the emblem in the grill. Also can any body shed some light on rather this part number is really bogus. Any help would be appreciated.

How much are they asking for PT557-8901B at the place you found? What's the place, if you don't mind sharing?

Thanks,

The place is Brandsport www.brandsport.com/toy-pt577-8901b.html. They have both the SR5 and Limited packages available according to the website. The price is $59.00. I know that is why I was interested in finding out rather this would work on my '96. I will try and send TOR a message. I may try and call him tomorrow. I got his 800 number off of another post.

I have done some business with Brandsport and always been happy. That part number would be the Brandsport number, not the Toyota number. They are a reseller, not a dealership, so it would not show in the dealers system.

I remember Zubaltec saying the front grille emblem on the 2001-2002 is larger than the previous years. He had swapped out grilles and his old emblem didn't fit on the newer 2001-2002 style grille.

Talking Black Pearls

I bought a black pearl kit off ebay for an 01-02. It does have the bigger front grill emblem, but since I got an 01-02 grill as well it worked out fine. I also had to get the 4WD emblem as it did not come with the kit, but all in all I was out about $80 for the whole kit and kaboodle and about $100 for the new grill. It looks much better than the bling bling emblems!

Talking Black Pearls

I got my black pearl kit off ebay for $40 or $45, I don't remember for an SR5 that had everything but the 4WD emblem which was $40 at the dealer and a new black OEM 01-02 grill for $100 at the dealer. The 01-02 black pearls, like I said above, have the larger front grill emblem, so I was set with getting a new grill, otherwise you'll need a new black pearl small grill emblem.

They really look good on the black 4Runner, IMO.

Also, you have a different "4Runner" emblem for the rear hatch. Yours is on the grey tag surround. The one's on 99+ runners are on the paint to the left of the tag surround. It may or may not work for you...

Toyota Model years: 1999 2000

This kit includes two Toyota logo emblems, for the front and rear; one "4Runner" emblem, one "SR5" emblem and one "V6" emblem.

Toyota Model years: 2001 2002

So the difference in the kit, is the size of the front emblem and the "V6" vs "Toyota" emblems on back. Ironically I have the "Toyota" emblem on my rig? I wonder if they got the description wrong or the kits mixed up. I guess I'll find out when my order comes in.

My 00 had/has no "V6" emblem, but a Toyota grill emblem, a Toyota symbol for the rear, a Toyota spelled out, a SR5 and a 4WD.

The only difference in the 99-00 and the 01-02 OEM emblems should be the front grill emblem SIZE, or at least that is what I thought.

i got the 2001-02 set off ebay for my old 96 and its didnt come with a 4wd. the grill emblem was to big so i sold it on ebay for 30 bucks and got one for a 00 grill (swapped it in) for 35 bucks shipped.
im looking for a new set for my 00, so i might do the same thing again.

you guys think it would be wack if i got a limited package? i really like the limited on the door panels, and since my car is a limited pretty much (bumpers and grill being swapped for painted ones soon) it would be identical almsot and once i get in my silkver carbon fiber dash kit?

I was wondering if I bought the 01-02 package how hard it would be, 'A' to rid myself of the front emblem that I can't use and 'B' find a front emblem that I can use? Would anybody be interested in a trade or does anybody have a 99 front emblem that they would like to sell?

As this is a pretty popular mod these days you'll just probably have to buy a new smaller black pearl front grill emblem and perhaps recoup some bones selling the chrome one.
