Bilstein sizes/models for '00 4Runner

Howdy,
I am planning on ordering the Bilsteins from shox.com for 269.80 for my new ’00 4Runner. Obviously there are fronts and rears but is there a difference between the left & right side. I recall that the shocks for my Tacoma were not the same length (side2side) in the rear.
Thanks,
Mike

shocks

You might be thinking about the springs. I didn't notice a difference in the shocks; left v right.

no difference, same size and part number. Expect stiffer ride with HD.

I got some Bils that will be here in a day or two and I can't wait to get them on,I've been driving on blown rear shocks for a month now and it's just awful.

Thanks guys. Does anyone know if the Bilsteins from shox.com for 269.80 are HD? Does HD = 5100's or something else?
Thanks,
Mike

I bought HDs from shox.com, p/n BE5-2450 front, BE5-2451 rear. ICBW, but think Bilsteins only come in two flavors, the HD and the softer TRD valving.

I thought that they made a "touring" grade but perhaps not.
Are you "happy" with your bils from shox.com?
How is the ride? My 4Runner is my daily car and weekend tow vehicle.
Thanks,
Mike

IMO, Bilsteins are the best street shock available for any vehicle. I've put HDs on everything I've ever owned which had 4 wheels. I even had Bils on order a few days before signing the check for my 'certified' POS.

On the factory (33K mile) shocks, it wouldn't settle in a turn, always pitching and rolling. I think it was designed to take speed bumps at the mall. The Bilsteins fixed that and it rides quite nicely. Now have 33K on the Bils.

Like you I drive to work during the week, and tow 4600lbs on weekends. Towing became acceptable only after adding Bilsteins and airbags inside the rear springs.

When I've gone off road, the Bils work just fine. I generally don't do serious rock crawling, but have been up and down my share of nasties.

And yes, since the Bilsteins don't have leaking axle seals, warped rotors, lying fuel gauges, etc., and don't cause my dash lights to blink, I'm very happy with them.
