Better throttle response

Better throttle response
The cable that runs from the cruise control to the throttle body seemed to have alittle slack in it, so i decided to tighten it; trying not to change the engine idle. I tightened the cable by loosening the bolt that has the cable running through it. Once the bolt was loose, i pulled the cable and re-tightened the bolt and the lock nut. Spraying on WD-40 on the bolt may help if the bolt is stuck. Now that the cable has no slack, and is tight, one little step on the pedal, and the throttle will open quicker than it was before.
Since doing this to my 3.slow, the engine feels more alive, and the throttle response is better; especially with an ISR mod.

I think i got this wrong, its the cable coming off to the right of the throttle body.
The cable leads straight to something round and big, right next to the master cylinder. The bolt i adjusted is right on the throttle body

I remember reading someone had suggested picking up the slack of the throttle cable by bending the accelerator pedal so it would go lower to the ground... then someone jumped in and said, "hey wouldn't it be better to just tighten the cable?"

This my sonund dumb; considering the people that hate the 3.slow, but the 3.slow seems to have more juice, and jumps off the line quicker after doing this little trick. Must have been the better throttle response, and "quicker opening" of the butterfly valve in the throttle body.

Another possible benefit to your adjustment is that the butterfly might be fully open at WOT when it might not have been before. Of course that is only speculation because you did not check that, but you would be surprised how many people run their vehicles around without checking the butterfly at WOT.
Simply pull the intake tube (with the engine off), have someone get in the rig and push the pedal all the way to the floor and hold. Make sure the butterfly is open all the way. If it isn't, an adjustment should be made.
On the flip side, make sure you are not over-tightening the cable or you will end up stretching it at WOT.
