Everytime I see painted rims it reminds me of high school and how we'd spray paint our hooptie wagons during the summer. Not that the black rims look cheap, I just couldn't justify taking the can to my 02's rims, powder-coated or not. It does look better without the running boards, though.

Ya the tires were on. I wiped the rubber with the the acetone so that the tape would stick.

I just painted mine gun metal. Getting the old paint and clearcoat off was a b****. I took paint stripper, wires wheels, and 80-grit sandpaper and I still ended up with high spots. I'm not terribly upset about it as I'm sure these wheels will see some rock rash.
