Before & After

Since everybody LOVES to see pix, I thought I'd post a couple of pix of "Lurch" before I started modding and how he looks now.

(Sorry to have to post the pix in two separate posts, but I couldn't get the ISP-hosted pix to work.)

Lurch is a '99 4Runner SR5 (auto.)

Here's a partial list of the mods that I've done to date:

* TJM T15 bull bar
* Hella "Black Magic" lights
* Jaos billet aluminum grille
* TRD supercharger
* AT valve body modification (hence the moniker "Lurch")
* Amsoil filter and air box mod
* Sway-A-Way coilovers and OME HD coils/comfort shocks
* Goodyear Wrangler AT/S 285/75R16

I'm taking a break for awhile before I tackle Gadget's fuel management kit, new wheels and a major overhaul of the sound system.

Looking at before and after pix is like looking at pix of my kids when they were little ...

Vato --

I gained 2" when I installed the SAWs and OMEs. I bought 1" Cornfed spacers for the rear but didn't need them. I have plenty of clearance for the 285s without having to go any higher.

Besides, since I have to drive my lovely bride around in it sometimes, I have to keep it low enough for her to get into it without a stepladder! (thus the running boards)

hey dude I noticed that in the 1st pic you don't have running boards, and you have the front mud guards that fill up the gap when the front fender ends.

Do you still use those? If not, would you sell them

Also, Jan. 17th, we're goin on a snow run in Attica with some isuzu guys, you up for testin out "lurch"?

Rob, I just might be up for that. Keep me in mind when the time comes closer. Just e-mail me.

As for the grille, check out www.burtmanindustries.com to see if it's the same one you're thinking of. Jason sells 'em. I don't remember how much it was, but I think it ranks as the single best mod I've done, purely from an esthetic point of view.
