Anyone who has done the cable extensions should take some pics of the setup and post them. It would be nice to collect all the stuff needed before buying the battery. Around here, it's always -15 degrees when you realize it's time for a battery replacement and that's a poor time to chase parts for the install...

i purchased a set of connectors(all brass) and will have to change the stock little wimpy connectors because the new poats are 2 times bigger, should I just extend my cables, and replace the fitting, or replace them with a good set of new cables?, any one got the cable extend info?

I by-passed the extension method and just bought a 2gauge 60" or 72" red from auto zone and a 4gauge 24" or 32" black from walmart (walmart didn't have 2gauge red ones long enough) and replaced the stock cables all together. connectors were already on them. be aware thought that it isn't as easy as disconnecting and reconnecting. first you have to pull the stock harness completely out and separate all the wires within, save the alternator cable and make your harness using the new cables all the while trying to get the tag ends to come out of the harnes at the correct places. it took me a while expecially pulling the stock harness. use a long thin flat blade screw driver for the cable channel that routes the harness underneath the engine, not to rip it off but just to help unfasten some of the snaps. it took me a while because I didn't know the length of the stock cable until I pulled it and measured it so that I could go buy the correct length. try to estimate if you want to pick it up before you start but from my experience, it is better to over estimate the length then to under estimate it. Once again, size matters.

i may just cut the cable and reconnect new fittings onto the stock cable if i have enough cable to do this, is there a way to get any extra cable length from the stock set up, this would be the easiest set up
