Bad Transfercase???? (videos)

ok i thought i was having problems with u-joints as this started slowly and faintly.. now it is very loud and i have had to stop driving my daily. i thought it was the double cardan joint in the drive line. took it out to press in some new ones and just thought i would see if my noise was still there, and wouldn't you know it, it was. metal slaping sound coming from the output shaft of T-case. at one time this only happened while in 2wd, you could shift into 4wd and the noise would go away. T-case chain slapping as it stretches or what.. this rig never gets wheeled. driven maybe 100 miles a week.

don't know if my sig is filled out..

How many miles on the truck? Have you ever changed the transfer case fluid?

Subscribed....I'm having a similar issue with my reverse gear. I'm pretty sure the noise is coming from the t case as well. I removed the shaft to check u joints and they where fine. 235k on truck and fluid was changed about 4 months ago. Here's a video of the sound. 4 wheel drive with no drive shaft.

My truck just turned 71000. I don't think I can remember changing the fluid.

That is how my noise started. Just a ticking like a u-joint at low speed then progressively got worse.y ukoints were bad and the centering ball in the cv joint as well.

Mine turned out to be a broken tooth in the tgransmissions reverse gear. Good luck with the t case swap hope it works.
