Bad Iner Tie Rod

Well I have finally figured out what make my tires wear so funny. I have also hear a cluck in the front end for a while but just figured it was just one of those sound that your car starts to make after it gets a little age and has been lifted.

I had some regal mt that wore realy funny so when I got my dunlops rv's I had my truck alineged. The guy told me that it was lined up fine when he looked at it.But that he had reallineged it again. That sent of tires lasted my around 18000 miles. My dad get around 80000 miles a set on his pathfinder. I just though I had a bad set.

Since I just purchased a set of 305/70/16 MT/R's I want to try to get it allineged again. They told me that the iner tie road was bad and that they could not allinege it until it was fixed.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is $200 fair parts and labor.

thanks

Hey I also have my stubbs sliders on the way. I will post pics after I get them installed.

I thought that mine had a bad inner tie rod and it was actually the rack. Check it out. There is a thread that I had started a while back about this. Apparently the racks were a little weak. I didn't figure it out untill i pulled the inner tierod boot back and saw that the tie rod was tight, it was the shaft of the rack that moved. I have alot of slop in mine when I jack it up and shake the wheel side to side. I would definately check this out before you dump the 200 bucks on the tierod.

If it is the tie rod you can do it for about half the price. The tierod cost about 50 bucks and another 50 to have an alignment done.

I thin the rack cost 300 bucks from advance auto. I have to replace mine sometime this summer. I haven't checked much out about the price yet. I'm actually thinking of going junkyard hopping for it.
