Axle swap problems

Is this axle bent or did it come from the factory this way

bent banjo

That tube has to be straight!!! No banjo housing that I've ever seen has a bend to it because it has to support the axle on the same plane as where it comes out of the carrier.

Yup, that puppy is bent!

Trying to figure how the hell they managed that. Normally, the bend upwards at the ends (when jumped) or back in the middle (run into big rocks, etc.). How did someone manage to bend it forward like that?

Yuck! I have only seen a couple bent like that and both were the result of on road collisions. My bet is that the donor rig got hit hard on the front right corner.

Bummer, but the axle is trash.

pull the axles from this housing?? yea i did i just misread your question. everything turns good and no bent birf and the 3rd has 4.88's it all came apart easy thats why we had the question if the housing was suppose to be bent since nothin else is damaged

so if all else fails i will have an extra mini-disc brake conversion for a FJ and a 3rd with 4.88's and then have to buy a housing

WHOS GOT A 84/85 MINI HOUSING??

I wouldn't worry about straightening it. Housings are a dime a dozen, just buy a new one. Hell, I might still have one sitting under my back porch. LOL

What is this going under?
