PM me when you get it done. I could figure it out but it always helps to have a guinea pig...I mean a write-up to go by just in case!

Thanks!

I don't actually have an aux. fuse box that is ignition switch dependant. The stereo just runs off of the stock harness, and the other stuff is minor loads, so I just tapped into existing circuits for the ignition switch dependancy. (The wiper motor for example - I used that for the relay to operate the air compressor, and the locker switch).

Anyway, I will just add to what Scottiac has said by suggesting that you plan this out based on what you might potentially add as far as accessories. You want to make sure that the wire supplying your fuse blocks is sufficient to handle the loads, and if you run one of the fuse blocks from a relay - make sure you don't exceed the rating for the relay. The popular Bosch relays are 30 amps (which is 360 watts (30a x 12v = 360w)).

If you have more loads than that planned, then you can either run a more robust relay with a larger fuse block, or add an additional fuse block with it's own power cable and relay. Just some ideas anyway.

Or you can ask at your local auto parts store for a headlight relay. Here is some info on relays and how they work...

Before you guys had fuse blocks did you use fuse taps? I've been having a hard time finding fuse taps for the mini blade fuses that are used in our rigs. Anyone know where I can find some?

Yes, I used the mini fuse taps for my rearview mirror, and heated seats. The only place I could find them was Napa auto parts. Not sure if you have them in CA.

Yeah, we've got Napa. The closest one is a ways away though. I'll call first. Thanks!

I just got a mailer from Boat U.S. yesterday and guess what I found. It's $29 for the 12 fuse block plus the mailer had a coupon for $10 off when you spend $25 or more! I know what my next mod is.
