Automatic Transmission Sealant Question

Hello all,

I just had my 4Runner transmission fluid swapped for Amsoil at what I thought was a reputable transmission shop because the dealer wouldn't do the swap with Amsoil. I won't bore you with all of the details, but I had to bring the truck there 4 times before they were able to keep the fluid from leaking out. However, I discovered today that they put the transmission pan gasket sealer in the filler tube joint along with the o-ring in order to guarantee the filler tube joint would not leak. I'm wondering if this could cause any problems down the road.

Please advise.

Thanks.
John

That shouldn't cause an issue unless they used excessive amounts.
.....it will make the pan tougher to get down next time though.
