Nothing is more important than figuring this TRAC crap out. Nothing. The 90k service can wait awile, and the ARB simply farted. No worries.

TRAC.

All in jest.

Did you ever find out what caused the "pssssst"? Did it engage at all or not> Hope you get it fixed.

Well took it in, good news the place I took it to said it's most likely a set of $2.00 seals which they are ordering in, the bad news, it will be about 200.00 in labor to install the 2.00 parts since they have to practically uninstall/reinstall the locker.

Ducky,
Good luck with the locker. Hopefully that's all it is.

TRAC?

It's probably just the rubber O-rings in the copper collar. They will dry up sometimes and not hold a seal.

Did you first 'test' out your locker after your rig had been sitting for a while? You might want to check your diff fluid level, then drive your rig, then test it again. Sometimes those O-rings just need to get saturated again and they'll work just fine.

The O-rings do go out though, so it's possible that they did. It's quite an easy fix because all you gotta do is pull the locker/carrier out, change the rings and put them back in. Since your rear-end has allready been "installed" all the shims and everything are set, so it's not near as difficult as installing the locker for the first time. Depending on how it's installed, you might still need to get a case spreader tho.

you know what it was on mine. The copper line wasn't routed right, it was pushed right up against the diff casing when the thrid was reinstalled. The copper line cracked at the base and basically had to be replaced. Then the line was rerouted as not to make contact with the diff casingEveryone thought it was the O rings, but they were fine. So if your ordering parts, make sure you order the copper line as well.

Well, the copper line is part of the collar that the O-rings fit into so it can get expensive....... but yes, a good thing to replace if the routing is bad. That would suck to have to change out the whole collar and line because of a crack or something.

I took my entire 3rd to ARB and they replaced the inner seal for free. They even gave me spare parts. If it's just the o-rings in the seal housing, you should be able to replace those easily.
