Angry ARB bumper with 2" body lift???

So I have searched and not found an answer. Is there a way to raise an ARB bumber to match a 2" body lift on a 98 tacoma? If I make the bolt slots longer I could get about 1/4" but thats all I've found. I know someone else must run an ARB with a 2" body lift so what did you do? Thanks for any help

You have to cut and re-weld the brackets higher, you should also re-enforce the brackets while you're at it.

thats what I was affraid of, I have no welder or torch... Guess I'll have to look for a good shop. Did you just cut down the center and off set the 2 halves 2"?

There is close to an inch of play for the bumper, but, yeah you'll have a good gap without custom work done.

Don't ever winch with it adjusted 2" like that, it's not designed for that kind of leverage. But here's how to make it look good:

Why even have the bumper on if you are going to ruin its structual integratiy?

I had my TJM brackets cut and welded 2" higher and re-enforced with some added brackets and have no problem using my M8000 winch. If it is done well, you shouldn't have a problem

^^^ Agreed, just make sure you put gussets on the section of the mount down to the main body of the mount and it'll be plenty strong. Go for it dude.

Dont worry about it. ARB's dont have that good of an approach angle. for the amount of work you will be doing to keep it as a viable winch mounting point you could just build your own bumper.

I plan on going custom in the future for that reason

FYI, I paid about $100 to a 4x4 shop to have it modified, so it's not a bank breaker.
