eew #6 piston looks kinda nasty...spray some good cleaner into the cylinder and let it sit overnight then scrape off the carbon with a gasket scraper

I got some gunk degreaser...but I think I'm gonna pop each piston all the way up and use my wire cup to dress them up. Don't wanna score the walls...and the walls are still thick as glass and no ridges at the top from what i felt with my fingernail. I agree...most of em do look nasty

no waste of time here I gotta go clean up the block and pistons now...then i have 3 sections due in algebra tomorrow along with a test AND a test on 100 Vocabulary words tomorrow for english. Oh and I have a 5 page essay due on Monday and a summary report for 2 topics. Maybe one of these years I'll have time for my children!

I got the old head gasket material off and the pistons cleaned the best I could with a wire cup. Cleaned out the middle of the motor too...there was about 1/2" of dirt and rust in the bottom of it!

Thats fine. My weekends in Oct. are pretty much booked. Unless you want to do it on a sunday. Your truck is going to be up and running next weekend. No ifs, ands or buts.

Got the oil pan off and cleaned up. Sump is shiny new Man what a mess in that oil pan...no pics tonight because the charger is nowhere to be found for the camera. Manifolds have been cleaned and painted silver and a bunch of brackets are now yellow. Tomorrow will be getting the motor cleaned up and painted with the oil pan all yellow. Got my brass freeze plugs in too. I got some help tonight so things went a little smoother
