Well we got the head situation figured out. Thanks Phil for the tech advice and engnbldr! Runnerboy97 came out today and Cootees and it was a slow morning but once we got rolling we got quite a bit accomplished. Thanks guys for coming out...enjoy the pics...oh yeh found another crack on that cam (good eye John) about the same length as the other one! Look closely at the cam pic.

Yah it made a good enough difference to cover up my screwup in ordering the flat When I get home from school tomorrow I'm gonna start assembling the motor. Get the heads on so I can get the chain out of the flywheel to turn the crank and get the converter off. Its gotta go back together this week

You may want to call engnbldr and pick his brain a bit about torquing heads down. I learned quiet a bit from the old guy when it comes to head bolts and technique. It may save you another head gasket job in the future. Motor looks really nice.

Well I got pushed back again tonight. I figured out I have to take the cams out in order to get the head bolts fully seated thats inside the head. I bought a 14mm 12 point 3/8" socket and the bolts that engnbldr sent me are 12mm Hopefully Wednesday is the firing day...might be as late as Friday now. Postin up more pics now.

I used to powder coat and paint cars so I try to mix things up so it won't be one uniform, ugly color I'm excited to see the outcome...hell I dreamed about putting it together and something about anti freeze last night
