Anyone with headers on a 2000+ 3.4L?

I have been strongly considering adding some headers to my 4Runner later this year. I would love to supercharge, but all the tranny and fuel delivery mods that are necessary are making me shy away (Atlanta dealer quoted me $576 plus shop supplies for supercharger install, reasonable price?) I have been researching the headers on both forums and it seems several have recommended the Downey's over TRD's. To get an idea of the install cost, I called the authorized TRD dealers in Atlanta. None of the dealers here in B'ham have the know how or the balls to do the install. Turns out, only one in Atlanta does. The other three referred me to Atlanta Toyota in Duluth, Ga. They quoted me $550 for the install of the headers. This seems very high to me. Two of the three dealers that referred me to Atlanta Toyota said that it was necessary to pull the engine to install the headers. I don't believe this for one second.
I am hoping someone on here has TRD, Downey, or Edelbrock headers on their 2000+ 4Runner and can help me get an idea on the labor cost and also the HP bang for the buck factor considering anyway I go for the headers will probably run $1000+ after install. Thanks guys. Later.

Sorry, I can't really answer your header question but I can address something else...

I have been driving my Y2K with a supercharger with no other (tranny or fuel system) mods for almost 3 years now. It's fine unless you plan on running the 1/4 in it. If you are a standard driver that gets on it once in a while, you won't need any other mods. Plenty of power, plenty of fun! If you plan on treating the 2 ton SUV like a race car, you will need mods. Just thought I'd pass that on to you.
