what can i do with the din space below the head unit? other than extra storage (thats too boring). i know people have used it to mount their cb radios, altimeters, battery voltmeters, oil pressure meters etc. has anyone done something else?

I'm thinking about making a switch panel for lights, amps & compressor.

Mine will eventually house the air pressure gauge for my tank, the switch for the compressor, and the arb switch. If I could squeeze in more, I might add switches for the rest of my auxilary lights.

Find you a piece of plastic, metal, etc, and start fabbing. That's how I'm going to do it, as I think that's the only way possible. If you have an aftermarket radio, I think there is an install kit that has a piece that just covers the din.

Talking

auxillary switches, gauges, swivel pocket, passive eq, stealth mode-slide out/flip up dvd screen, or a vote for "flamedx4's" beer taps.

I have a Beartracker Scanner (BC-7) in that spot. I had to make a trim piece to fill in a little on the sides and top. Also an external speaker and right angle bnc connector to make it go back as far as possible.

I mounted my ham radio in mine, Icom 8000. Fits perfectly.
