Just noticed last weekend a small dent in my hood. The worst part is, I think I'm the culpret. One of those washing the truck and slip on the tire your standing on incidents. Anyone had good luck with "paintless" dent removal tools? I may have the dealer call Dent Wizard on my next service. If I can avoid the expense, it would be nice. So any aftermarket dent removal kits out there that work?

 

Fix-o-dent! No wait... isn't that for dentures? On a more serious note, if it's a small circular dent, sometimes those little things you see on t.v. with the suction cups will work. I think another way is to take dry ice wrapped in something (no direct contact, and make sure to wear THICK gloves too) and circle the dent with it until it pops back into place. I've never tried either of those methods though, so don't quote me on them.

i had a small shopping cart ding and bought one of those pops a dent things and it didnt do a damn thing waste of $25

 

My boss backed into my Lexus behind the rear door. I used a large suction cup and then I removed the trunk interior panel and pushed out the dent. I used some dry ice on a hot day to pull the rest out.

I frequently get dents in my 4Runner and find that pushing them out from the inside and using a suction cup works good. My dad has a collision repair kit that has a bunch of hydrolic rams with a varity of attachments that works good on bending heavyer metals

 

Can't help you with the dent removal. However...............I'm excellent at putting them in!

 

Welcome to the dent club. It's frustrating, I know, since like you I have a late model Yota which was 100% dent and ding free until about 2 months ago; now I've got two. I've had to adopt a zen like state wherein I've come to realize that small dents are just a part of life. Cars and trucks are meant to be used and in doing so things will happen. Repeat the usual saying over and over: it gives my truck character. They'll get fixed someday, I'm sure, like when someone (inevitably) rear ends me and/or when I back into another pole/car/mailbox/child and really smack it bad).



Shelling out the big bucks for minor body work just isn't sustainable to me.

 

It seems to me that the dent-kits really only work well at minimizing large dents, but not getting them out entirely. My parents got a softball sized (i mean it looks like it was hit by a softball) on one of the rear doors on their camry. my dad used the "ding king" to minimize the dent. i dont think it would really work on smaller dings (dime-sized maybe). it took multiple pulls to really do anything though.

 

I've got great news for you my friend! Someone broke into my car recently and dented my door. It was dented right next to where the door handle meets the sheet metal of the door so it's not that easy to get out, however, I went to dent pro and they fixed it without repainting! I don't know how they do it, but it's paintless dent removal and it works!

I got my dents (4) from the gods playing a little golf while I was in KS visiting. I think everyone else was more upset than me. As we get a little older, we all get a few scars. I'm keeping the dents.

Ah, I hate hale! It can really do some serious damage to your finish. Luckily up here in the Northeast we don't get it very often. I've only seen it once in my lifetime. I appreciate the responses guys. Believe it or not the "Ding King" actually did help. I used it this weekend. However, I'm still bringing it in to the local detail shop so they can get it perfect. "Dent Wizard" is stopping by on Friday to take a look at my rig. Should be easy for them to fix, or so I hope. I'll keep you guys posted.

 

Pops-a-dent a Ding King work fairly well for CERTAIN digns, nothing serious. I've used both, with success!
