anyone changed the bushings in 2nd gen runner?
I've come to the conclusion that the rattling in the front of my runner is the cause of worn bushings (125k so I'm pretty sure I should get new bushings). Anyway, has anyone done this themselves? I won't be able to do it right away however, since my $$ situation right now isn't too good. If you have done it, could you let me know what kind of tools I need and all the places the bushings are and the price you paid for the new ones? Thanks.

Bushings eh? My front grille used to rattles with bass, and that's it....lol Granted the front windshield also flexed a good 1/4" but that's another story.
Could you elaborate on the bushings? I know I'm missing all but 2 of the metal retaining clips that hold the grill on and I need replacements. Anybody know where I can get some of them/

It can be a pain.. you will probably need to press them out.. Need a press for that...
Now for buying them, get a energy suspension kit... Run you about $150 and will have a ton of the parts.. They are like $65 each for the lower (x4) and still stink

omg I need to pay attention more and quit scanning. I thought you were referring to some sort of bushings holding on the front bumper, hence my grill questions....
maybe sleep would help my reading comprehension as well....lol sorry bout that

Everyone I have ever discussed this with recomends swapping the arms instead of just monkeying with the bushings.
You should be able to get stock arms cheap from a yard or a recent swapper. If you keep the current ones and repress bushings, the parts and labor are going to be a bugger, and you already have the arms off...
