E-lockers were 4.30 ratio. It is sort of a weird ratio. Better than 4.10-but 4.56 would have been a bit nicer. Then again, my truck came with 15 inch tires. Not the 16 inch rims that were put on it at the dealer. Thus the speedometer difference.

Mine's installed and working fine. I've had no issues with the TRAC, VSC or any of the other electronic nannies. Though I've only used the rear locker after engaging the centre diff lock so the VSC is already off.
A few things I've noticed:
the TRAC system on my 01 is actually very capable, there are only a couple of spots I used to get stuck in that I've needed to use the locker,
and the rear end tends to go sideways more with the locker engaged, whereas with just the TRAC it didn't seem to be a problem

I spent $500 for the front diff, complete rear axle and the wiring harness with ecu and switch, and about $150 for shipping them half way across Canada. I haven't tried selling my old parts yet but I hope to get a couple of hundred for them.

A year after I posted for info and I've now completed my swap. I actually did a double-swap of rears (and IFS fronts to keep the gears matching) between my wifes new-to-us '99 LTD that came with the e-locker and my '02. Real quick and easy to swap the rears and no big deal to drill the two holes for the brakeline bracket.
And there's no question that it's absolutely, completely, totally, 1000 times easier to swap complete axle assemblies than it would be to mod the non-elock diff housing to accommodate the elock diff. I would wager it takes less time to do as well.
Just got to finish the wiring on mine now and I'm set.

Since the 01-02s don't have any of the wiring, I haven't totally figured out what I want to do. I do know I am going with as close to stock wiring/setup as possible. I've already got the ecu and a switch from a parted-out vehicle and a length of 7-way trailer wiring. I also really like the "RR Diff Lock" light/indicator on the factory instrument panel and have been having thoughts about stealing it from the '99 somehow.
I've been looking at this schematic for the wiring:

So after figuring out that I can't just steal the "RR Diff Lock" light/indicator on the instrument panel of the '99, I've come up with a new thought about the indicator/light. What if you rerouted the wiring going to the indicator LED in this wiring digram to go back to the light in the switch? So the result is that the switch itself becomes the indicator light. Would I still need the resistor in-line before the light?
And would this be correct for the new routing:
OLD // NEW
12v line connecting before pin 5 on rr diff lock switch -> resistor/LED // 12v line before pin5 -> pin 3 on rr diff lock switch
LED -> pin 2 diff lock dectection switch // pin 4 rr diff lock switch -> pin 2 diff lock detection switch
Dose that make sense?
Here's a crappy photochop of what I was thinking. Red is my changes. Would this work?

Nobody?!?!
So I've just finished wiring mine up like the second digram posted above. The locker engages and the motor seems to stop itself just fine and it also seems to dis-engage just fine as well. But I don't have any illumination of the switch at any time. I may end up putting in an LED after-all, but was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what might be wrong?

good job dude
Hey good job ... I just itstalled a 2000 entire rear diff with Locker and front diff in my 2001 4runner.. The 2000 doner car only had 77'000 miles on her(thanks cash for clunkers) I had a friends garage do the swap and it seems to be working great so far.. I now just need to figure out the wiring. I plan on tackling this in the spring. I have the entire wiring harness and the Diff lock button.. Wish me Luck.
Thanks all you guys and yotatech for giving me the confidence to tackle this project.

All of the bulbs in the dash cluster have common power, they just need a ground to illuminate. Take my wiring diagram that you displayed a few posts up and hook the yellow-blue ground wire coming from the difflock detection switch to the appropriate pin in the plug behind the gauge cluster. If you look at the factory wiring diagrams they will show exactly which pin goes to the difflock light.
