Just curious about feedback on these guys. They do ceramic coating on exhaust parts and were recommended by a local speed shop here in AZ. They are located in Chandler, AZ. which is somewhat local to me.

I am thinking about having my Edelbrock headers coated before install. They want $155 to do it, and they have a 4 day lead time.

Any thoughts?

 

When I got my Turbo rebuilt on my Celica, I had them HPC the exhaust side. I don't have a EGT gauge so I couldn't tell you if it helps.

There are some All Trac owners on www.alltrac.net that swear by that stuff.

I am not sure how much (if any) of a performance gain you would get though...

 

Well, I am mainly concerned with underhood temps. Here in AZ while wheeling, it can get downright nasty under the hood. I figure I might as well just do it since they are new and out of the vehicle anyway.

Yeah its better to do it now than to have to uninstall it and get it done. I think you need to ditch the stock/glasspack exhaust and get a better system, that will help get those hot exhaust gasses out!

Hey, go easy on the $52 wonder! Have you ever watched the video clip of my rig on Corey's exhaust page? It doesnt sound that bad.

But I know what you are saying. It's a thought, but the last thing I want to do is try and convince my wife I need new exhaust on top of the convincing I had to do for the headers and BL!

Just tell her that the exhaust you have on there is not compatable with the headers you bought..

Nahhh, just 0 - 70.

 

It was awhile ago, but I think I paid around $90-100 for ceramic header coating. Make sure he gives you a small jar of the coating stuff in case you knick it during install, so that you can touch it up again. Don't worry about drying it, the heat from the exhaust will do it for you
