My 4runner antenna makes a loud long sound when it goes up. it does not go all the way up and just goes uhhhhhh!...like the motor pushin it up or whatever isnt workin right or something. how can i fix that. thanks

 

Your tube probably got bent and caused the plastic line gear to strip. Unscrew the piece on top of the fender, turn on your key so the motor feeds the antenna out. Have sombody there to hold it or it may scratch your fender when it falls out of the hole. look at the teeth on the plastic line attached to it. If there are not any damaged teeth then you may have stripped the gear on the motor.

The teeth are along the plastic line. They strip very easy. I have replaced my antenna three times in four years. It is very easy and the part is under twenty bucks. Here is a pic of the part you need.
