antenna ???

when the radio is off how far down does the antenna go, mine stays up 4 inches. Should it go all the way down? Also the reception is not as good as our 87 4runner. Is this normal?

It should go all the way down, sounds like you have a damaged antenna.

Mine broke too, its pretty normal.

If they can install it, sweet, but, the mast itself is not very expensive, and that is all you need to replace.

Just got back they told me $85 to do the job. Is it pretty easy to install? They did however agree to do a free detail and get me an owners manuel. They seem really nice but the antenna is not a really big deal. Any tips to change the antenna?

You just need two people to do the antenna, its very simple!

Turn the radio on, and take off the crown nut. The antenna should come out.

Note which way the teeth are going on the internal plastic.

Feed the new mast in, and have someone turn the radio off.

Put the nut back on. your done
