Another TRD SC Question

I have a SR5 Sport 2000 with the Supercharger and 7th Injector kit.

Has anyone with this particular setup done with Air Elbow Removal mod and removed their air intake silencer WITHOUT upping their fuel pressue?

Has anyone made their hood scoop operational? It looks like the plug would come off quite easily....

Not a question but more like a statement. From my calculations I am getting 22mpg if I keep it @ 70mph or below. Anyone else getting these figures?

GOOD GOD!!!! 22 mpg with a SC!!! My 02 with sc/7th gets 14 around town (I really don't drive freeways too much, so I don't know what it would do).

I'm guessing you have a 5sp and are running highway tires?

If you're getting 22, don't mess with anything!!!

The elbow mod should have been part of the 7th install - I believe trd removes the elbow and replaces it with a chunk of 3" silicone tubing/pipe. (It was in the install instructions)

I had the dealership install the 7th Inj kit. If it was in the instructions, I can assume that they did it, I hope. . .

Around town (San Francisco) the kids insist that every hill is taken like Steve McQueen in Bullt I get s**t for mileage - getting 14 would be like Christmas in July.

I run on/off tires but they're mostly on and they suck off.

I get atleast 22mpg on the highway with my 99 SC Limited. And that is a mix of mountain/straightaway driving. I have the Trueflow Intake system and Jardine exhaust. I used to get around 16-18mpg before the charger. Around town, I average about 18mpg too. It's great!!

Wow that's a big difference, I wonder if it has anything to do with elevation since I see you're in CO.

Wow, that's a good excuse to get a supercharger IMO

For altitude, forced induction is great because you lose less power overall as well. Big deal for me, since Los Alamos is at ~7300 ft.

It was quite amazing...I get there faster, and with better milage. I think it's because I don't have to floor it to get up the mountains and hills. I keep my foot in the same place, and it just glides up. I'm impressed as hell with it, and wouldn't go back no matter what!!

We're about 5400 where I live, but the passes are all around 10-14k.

Interesting, so maybe before the SC you were running too rich and now the boost has leaned it out.

I don't guess you have an A/F ratio gauge to tell?

"WITHOUT upping their fuel pressue"... Are you asking about replacing the fuel pump?

There's a thread on here somewhere that talks about this guy:
http://www.geocities.com/sailbop/PICS.html

The thread went into a lot of math and came up with that he should have just done the deckplate mod to get more air. i.e., the tube size he used was so small that he actually _lost_ air flow.

late add: found the thread:

How are you calculating mileage?

You say that you're running on/off road tires, but are they stock size?
