I have a 99 Limited 4 wheel drive. How do you know if it has a fatory locker in it or not?

 

There is a switch inside the truck that will say RR Diff Lock. It's located on the left -hand side of the dash.

 

There should be a button on the dash, just left of the steering wheel. By the dimmer.

It should say RR DIFF

Or look at your rear diff for the locker motor.

Just curious which models normally have that? I thought being a Limited I woould have that stuff I guess not... That sucks

 

Check out Jalaber's site he has a bunch of info on the 4Runner on there and you cna probably find what your looking for a lot easier. But to answer your question, they made them from 99 on up to 2002, but I think you had to either order it that way or it was just luck of the draw. The e-locker only came on the 4x4 Runners and was not specific to either the SR5 or the limited, it just depends on how it came from the factory. I may be a little off on some of this but just check that site and it should help you out i believe.

 

Actually, I think they were only available from 1996-2000. After that came the multi-mode AWD/4WD system.
