Another noob lift question

Ok been reading the threads and seeing on different options. I saw the SS lift kits and those are great, but being a broke kid about to head to college my wallet cant afford that. I have been turning to the toytec lift options.

My question is if i buy the toytec 3" 4runner lift kit, is that all i need? i will probably also buy the set of Tokico trekmaster shocks too. But will this be enough for my lift.

What I am looking for is a more aggressive look in my 4runner, more of a road warrior, not many places to go wheeling in the middle of florida. Its just that my stock suspension seems to be really rough now, been looking for something new, so lift seems like the route to go. I also plan to put on a TJM T15 in a couple of months, and a wildness rack after that. So will I be good if i go with this lift option?

I don't like being the dude that tells you to search cus' I'm fairly new too, but it sounds like you knoe the direction you want to go. Defeinately do a diff drop and you'll probably want either a drop(pan) bar or adjustable trac bar for over 3in of lift or your Runner will lean to the passenger side. I started small like the lift you're talking of and I'm slowly growing with my Runner and makin my way around to the LC/Tundra Trd lift.

Oh btw I am a 98 2wd SR5, do i need a diff drop if i am 2wd? And looking back at it, since my 4runner's suspension seems off, i might go with a OME kit just so i can get new front springs too.

2WD 4Runners have a slip yoke on the back of the transmission, not a slip shaft like a 4WD 4Runner. We are the only ones that have 2WD lifts that GUARANTEE you will not have drive train vibrations from the slip yoke pulling out.

Buy cheap, buy twice.

Exactly. It's completely up to you which lift you purchase, but remember, you get what you pay for. Just b/c it's cheap does not always mean it's a good investment.

yeh i brought me the OME lift kit and tokico shocks for front and rear, but when i got my OME lift kit from toytec seems like they gave me a diff drop kit too. (didn't know it came with the kit, or maybe it didn't, o wells *bonus*) So i am 98 2wd SR5 do i need to install the diff drop or not? since its a "slip yoke" instead of a "slip shaft." O_o help would be appreciated

The ToyTec lift (also available from WabFab as mentioned above) is a good lift. I got the one with the OME coils in the back and hockey pucks in the front, with the diff drop. Seems to do well off-road as well. No complaints on this lift so far...

i have the toytec spacers with ome 890s in the back. i lifted it because the stock suspension was getting saggy. so i'm guessing you're in the same similiar situation. so far so good. i've had it for about 2 months.
