If you got a 3rz its fine at 3000 rpm i am running at 75ish mph, with 265/75/r16 tires. I get around 22 mpg average. If you have the 5vz and runnin stock tires that might be much, may try 4.30, if your going to keep it stock. If your gonna lock her do it at the same time.

89,813 miles and no problems with the engine at all. Had to replace the A/F sensor but that was supposed to be done at 70,000 anyway.I did replace the PVC valve awhile back and the gas line filter just as preventive maintenance. Forgot to ad that I do keep it clean. Also I have used Mobile1 , 5w30 and change it every 8,000 miles and use Fram filters . It purrs like a kitten. Mike

I must admit Beartracker....I'm not familiar with the A/F sensor or maybe I just don't recognize the abbreviation. Why/What does that mean to replace it?

Any ideas on when to replace or if to replace the timing chain?

The A/F stands for "air/fuel" sensor. It tells the computer what the mixture is or helps regulate same. The book tells you to replace it every 70,000 miles.Mine cost about $130.00 and the price depends on what engine you have and what year. It's located right on your manifold behind the engine or I should say behind and below the engine just before the catalytic converter. If you open your hood and look down at the cat you will see it. It looks allot like a spark plug sticking in the exhaust. If you do a search for A/F sensor you will get all kinds of info. As for the timing chain my 01 ,2.7 does not have one to replace.

Yep, some people do call it that.It sure made a difference in the way my 2.7 ran as well as upped the gas mileage by 2 mpg. The place I found the biggest difference was going up long mountain grades. Less shifting and less pedal to the metal (improved power) would be a better way to describe it I guess.Mike

Oh, I see. Being the second owner and I bought mine from a dealership...I should probably assume it hasn't been replaced..the A/F-O2 sensor that is. I'll get that done...

Yeah and I'm gonna say the chain is fine...haha...I don't hear any hard chattering or anything. I was just curious.
