body lift and tire fitment question

i currently have a toytec 3" lift with OME rear springs. i'm running 285/75r16 revos on landcruiser wheels. my question is: how much body lift is needed to clear 315/75r16 bfg kms? i think i could manage with a 1'', but i'm leaning towards a 1.5" just to be sure.
this is the only picture i have that shows wheel clearance.

I have a 1.5" BL with 315/75 MT/Rs on 16x8 MT Classic IIs. We did a lot of trimming initially and after this last Moab trip I need to do quite a bit more. If you are willing do quite a bit of trimming then go for it. If you don't want to do any cutting then you might want to stick with 285s.

i've already done quite a bit of trimming. i don't have a pinch weld now per-se. i didn't need to do it to clear the 285s but i did it any way. have you started cutting into the fenders and bumper?

I have the Sonoran Steel modified TJM wings, trimmed Limited fender flares and no pinch weld and I still rub when stuffed. I found about an 1" to 1.5" of metal below where the pinch weld was that had been peeled back by the tires when they were stuffed. Your pinchweld will be nothing more than a starting point if you move to 315s.

i've got 1.5" BL. go for that...it'll require less clearancing. by the looks of your pic, youre gonna have to say buhbye to the lower rear corner of youre fender flares...as well as the pinch weld behind it. the rears rub only on full stuff..but im not worried about it.

oh..and on the pic you posted, those are 4runner LTD 5stars, and not the landcruiser wheels. you definitely dont want to run those wheels on 315's. firstly, its not wide enough. my 8" wider LC's are barely wide enough. secondly, the backspacing on those wheels with 315's will equal massive sidewall rub on your UCA's. so youve either got to a) get aftermarket/shaved UCA's, or b) get spacers of at least 1"

edit: oh..and dont forget thinking about regearing. 4.30's were a dog when i first got the 35's on. and if you wheel it..its waaay too tall a gear. 4.88's at LEAST to get back to stock..if not 5.29's.

yes those are the factory 5 stars its an old pic. the gearing is the only thing thats really holding me back. i am supercharged but the 315 is alot more tire.

if he did 5 stars, hed do both a and b, aftermarket UCAs and 1 inch wheel adapters, but it can be done and they do ride good while on low pressure, i just setup some 315s on 5 stars (not installed on my truck yet as im not regeared and dont care to kill my gas mileage)
