yes, i know, its been beaten to death, but i just wanted to share my experience today.

so i had the day off work and decided to go back and test drive an 05 Tacoma. (yes, i work at a dealership)
anyways, i wanted to drive a 6spd. V6 and a 5spd 4cyl. luckily i was able to drive both.
First i drove the 4 banger, and it was very smooth, but honestly didnt feel much more powerful than my 98 2.7 so i was a bit disappointed
On the other hand, when i drove the 6spd V6... WOW is all i can say, the thing pulls hard through all 6 gears and is smooth as silk. i managed to chirp the tires from 1-2 and 2-3 so thats a big plus in my book. got up to 90 in 6th with no effort at all and was only reading 3k RPM's.
the interior is nice, very comfortable, but i dont like how the stereo is angled up, it just feels and looks kinda odd. also another pet peeve i have is the electronic transfer case shifter on the dash, its just a knob that you turn like on the 4th gen runners.

overall, my consensus is I want this truck, black, 4x4 extra cab V6 6speed with the TRD e-locker.
also some things i noticed while looking underneath the truck...
there is no way to tell from looking at the axle if it has the locker or not, they all have the 8.4" housing. And the rear shocks appear to be mounted on the outside of the frame so you can see them from the wheel wells.
