Almost embarrassed to ask...

I am new to yota tech and am still educating myself by listening to you guys. If someone could explain or give me a link to a previous post that explains what a locker is and what it does that would be great. (and I did try searching before posting lol).

A locker is a synonym for locking differential. A locking differential distributes power equally between left and right wheels and prevents the differential from actually doing the job it is intended to do - allow the wheels to turn at different speeds (i.e. around corners).

Does that help?

Is there a distinct difference in performance when offroading and daily driving? Also what is the average cost?

Thanks

a selectable locker (e-locker or arb air locker) is best for daily driving IMO. you can pick up a new e-locker for 1300 or an arb for 1k ish plus install.

Hey hows Santa Cruz? I just moved out of there this past year. If you ever need help working on your truck, hit me up, I still visit from time to time.

SC4runner hows it goin. How is SC? Lets just say I am very excited about leaving it and going off to college. The kind of people living here are not for me (and I think you know what I mean lol). Ya if I start on a project it would be great to get help from someone with experience!

haha... I know what you mean

Dude, I only lived there for 6-7 years, and man, I couldn't wait to get out of there. Its great in certain aspects, but, damn it feels like you are taking a very, very deep breath when you get to leave.

Just too many people jam packed into a tiny town = too much energy and vibe.
