Need some advice on a noisy air conditioning compressor. Runs fine. Clutch engages, air blows cold but compressor whines when under a load. Sounds like a supercharger or gear drive when running. Mechanic suggests replacing it to be safe. no bearing kits available and replacing whole pump is only option. Anybody else have a noisy compressor and if so is it okey to leave alone or should it be replaced? Thanx -MK

 

let it whine and fix it when it quits.it might whine for 50k before it quits.
