The time has come to turn the little critter around and decided to add the top tether.
Here are some pics.

this is a mod I need to do for my sister's car seat.

I just use the luggage loops for now.

How much the bracket cost you? Where from?

That is just part of the actual LATCH system for attaching a baby carseat. All 2nd gens and most 3rd gens (I think....maybe some 4th gens too) don't have this as standard equipment. I did a retrofit on mine and it came out quite well, but you need to be very careful when doing it for obvious safety reasons.

Here is the retrofit:

You can read more about LATCH here:

Geez, I went with just attaching to the cargo hold downs - didn't know there was something available. My kids are older now...

Great mod!!

The part is from the dealer. $10.23
I thought about using the luggage loops but since they the loops aren't centered directly behind the seat it causes the seat to twist a little if or when it moves forward.
Nobybody thinks this is the only place I have seat hooked up do they?
People with kids know about the top tether on a car seat with LATCH.
It greatly reduces forward movement of the top of car seats.
Bottom connection still uses the seatbelt with clip attached.
I didn't install LATCH, just the top tether found on car seats with LATCH.

This is not a good idea. You should never use any thing other then authorized tethers to secure forward facing car seats. It's not safe for the child in the event of a collision.

I don't care if this is a out of date thread. Do not use storage straps as tether points!!!!
