Ac compressor rebuild

Compressor on my 98 3.4 is frozen up. Probably due to son getting the thing soaked in mud a while ago.

Bought a good used compressor to replace but I would rather not open the system and have to pay to have it recharged. I have been looking for a write up to swap the clutches so I don't have a recharge cost in addition.

Anyone provide one, or point me to a link?

So the clutch won't disengage? Or has the pulley, clutch, and compressor all locked up and burned the belt off? If only the clutch is bad, there are some youtube videos on pulling a Denso compressor apart that are pretty good. Although pulling the clutch isn't that difficult, just don't lose the shims and get some snap ring pliers.
