A340F Question
Can anyone tell me the difference(If there is any) between the 1985 A340F auto tranny and the 1996 and newer A340F tranny. I want to put a 1UZFE in a 1985 and need to know if there is much strenth difference or if they are the same internaly.

I have a A340F in my 2001 4Runner and the only help I can give is the shifting is totally electronically controlled, there isn't even a kickdown cable on mine. Sorry don't know much about the earlier ones.
