A340F or 30-40LE question

Do I have a A340F or a 30-40LE or are there 2 tranny numbers for the same transmission? It's in a 2001 Tacoma 4x4 V6 with auto tranny.

I'm pulling the valve body out to send to John @ IPT and the FSM drawings of the VB bolts don't match what I have. So I looked at the model # on the tranny and it says 30-40LE.

I'm fairly certain they are one and the same. The AW4 found in a couple million Jeep Cherokees is also labeled 30-40LE on the transmission.

Oh that's interesting. I still can't find a Toyota FSM that has this 30-40LE in it. Maybe I should try a jeep FSM

Thanks Doug, that is a good link.

Thanks LTD, but I sold that door jam about 2 years ago along with the rest of the cab. All I have now is the engine, ECU and tranny.

Thanks for the confirmation Richy, even if it is 2.5 years later

You're right, in my case I found and E and made it F. The core are the same except for output axle, so I changed the axle.
