A340e vs a340f

Ok so I am trying to find a replacement trans for my 2002 Tacoma Prerunner 2x4 with V6 and auto trans. It calls for an A340E. But I keep finding A340F. They look the same other than the bell housing. On the E the starter mounts pass side, on the F the starter mounts driver. Is this the ONLY difference? Can I just swap the bell housings and bee good to go? I have found several NEW F's for cheaper that used E's.........

The A340F is a 4wd only trans. So no your fake 4x4 cant use it.
