99+ Center Console

I got a 99 center console with the ebrake handle and bucket underneath. I've read the threads and some say you need to cut and trim etc, others say it is a direct bolt on. Any one able to clarify this?

The 99 center consoles are the ones with the cup holders instead of the bucket. if you got the ebrake handle with it it should be a direct bolt up. if you are going to use your 98 ebrake handle you will need to drill a new hole to angle the handle.

EDIT: I was wrong you have to trim the edges of the console. Everything you need should be here.

I didnt trim mine when i did it. it works fine for me. if you have the ebrake and the metal part that screws into the floor and attatches to the bottom of the bin it should just fit in easily.

Pretty much. It doesn't line up exact but it doesn't wobble or anything. Cupholders are awesome

for my '98, i bought the 99+ console, e-brake handle, cup under the e-brake, and the console mounting bracket. everything was bolt on, very simple and quick, NO trimming needed on mine and fits 100%.

Thanks I appreciate it. I am currently painting the black pieces black again. They had faded a bit and I wanted them to all match the factory low gloss black.

Ok almost done will wrap it up in the morning. Here is what I found, you do not need the ebrake bucket. Good thing since there all these prongs that hold the cable in place in it. No trimming needed! The only reason I could see people needing to trim is if they didn't use the 99+ console bracket. The 99+ is shorter and the 96-98 one won't clear. The 99+ console is taller too. I was going to get the Rodeo/Passport armrest from another member here but I think it woould be too high with the new console.

Parts Needed:
Console
Ebrake
Console Bracket

The lid, ashtray, and cupholder will swap over if you didn't get it with the new console.

Also be prepared to find a mess and a mysterious goo in the bottom of your old console when going to unbolt it!
