99 4 runner LTD, 79,000 miles. with auto. When I hit the gas, it seems to hesitate. Going down the road at about 25, I let off the gas, hit it and it still seems to hesitate. I used to have a 96 4 runner with 5speed (manual) It didn't do this and it had over 100k on it. Any ideas? :pat:

 

Start with the obvious - plugs and wires. If it still hesitates, assume it could be a fuel problem... fuel pump, or a malfunctioning injector. Could be you have an air leak too. Check all your intake plumbing and make sure it's all good and tight with no leaks.

 

check your mass air flow sensor, try cleaning it along with your throtle body or you may need to replace it.( I had to ) but I was getting a check engine light.
