Question 98 Ltd frt suspension squeak?

While driving I hear a squeak like a noisy wagon wheel. Not a brake nosie but a suspension noise. I can duplicate it by bouncing the truck from the front bumper. Any ideas before I crawl under her to see what's up?

Check out all the bushings around the front shock.. (Lower shock mount bushing is mounted on the lower control arm.) (Upper top plate bushings may require the coil-over assembly to be taken off to inspect). But these are likely causes for the noise.

Bushings are pretty cheap. Hope this helps!!

They might be cheap, but it can be a huge pain to replace. I replaced the shock when I had the same problem due to a bad lower shock mount bushing. The bushing is 17$ or around that, stock shock is 30$ and it might be time to get it replaced anyway (the labor is the expensive part unless you do it yourself). Maybe you can get away with greasing the bushings or wherever the sound comes from it everything looks ok.

I had this problem when I first purchased my 4runner. I would go over bumps and there would be an annoying squeak. Drove me crazy. I got under the car and pressed up on the bumper. In doing so, I noticed some play on the passenger side. After identifying the culprit bolt, all it took was some tightening up with a ratchet and the squeak was gone.

Thanks folks. It turned out to be the swaybar bushings are shot. Temp fix was a shot of CRC, but they will need to be replaced. Looks like a easy job I hope?
