98 intake silencer removal mod

anyone do this mod? I acquired the parts from a 99 runner to retrofit my 98. the hole on the 99 intake piece-where a black hose connects into is slightly wider than the tube-and wider than the 98 stock tubes-hole. Not sure if I need to make a PVC connector deale-o. bobs write up in the tech-performance forum did not bring this up.

thanks.

I also would stick with the 98 ISR.
here is a CHEAP write up also. Much like Eltons, only a little different parts. This is off an 04 taco.

Just find a 3 inch mandrel bent pipe 45 degree angle, cut the boot and get some hose clamps. It will do better then just plugging the large openings.
