Newly Designed ISR for 04 Double Cab

EDIT: Sound Clips Added, See Post 50 on page 2.
I know the ISR has been covered. But here is a different design I've seen done only one other time, and for that I give credit to Elton, here on the boards. He is the one who supplied the idea for this one, as he has it on his truck, I think we have a little different setups under the hood as far as the intake tubes go because we used vastly different parts. Heres a quick look. Let me know what you guys think, and also any improvements. Thanks.

EDIT: Price/Parts List
1 1/4" Plug MIPT SCH40 - $1.24
1/4" Barb X 1/4" MIP - $1.62
1/4" ID Fuel Hose 2ft - $1.60 ($0.80 per foot)
100% Silicone Aquarium Sealant - $1.97

Grand Total: $6.43 + Local Sales Tax.
Labor Time - Approx 20 minutes.

Here is the Stock IS Setup.

Here is a 1 1/4 inch PVC Pipe Threaded Plug.

Here is a 3/8 OD to 1/4 Hose Barb fitting. Also a 3/8 ID Rubber Grommet to slip over the threaded end inside the PVC cap. (we ended up not using this)

Here we used the cordless 18.8V DeWalt to drill out a hole for out barb fitting in our PVC Cap.

Here we Threaded the Barb into the Cap and sealed off with Silicone Aquarium Sealant.

We then replaced the Vaccum Line with this 1/4 ID Fuel Hose. Which looks great and is sturdy like a beast. I am thinking of replacing all my vaccum hose with it. It is approx $.80 a foot at my local Lowes (all parts were purchased there)

We then sprayed with a liberal coating of ColorCast Flat Black Spray Paint, and hooked it all up.
Here is the finished product.

There ya go. I will update this thread this evening with a complete parts/prices list. But so far, I think this will be the cheapest ISR yet on YT, and also its very easy to make, and provides for much flexibility in parts...

EDIT: A Special Thanks to my friend Jimmy (gray impact Mechanix Gloves - Mine are the black ones) He has also helped me with my deckplate, and several other issues, he makes a great parts holder, and photographer

Let me know what you think! Thanks Guys!

~Chris

Hmm......ya know, everyone says that potheads are so creative because they are always trying to fabricate something that works better than their normal "tools"..........Im beginning to think that maybe gearheads should be put into that category too!!!

Nice job Chris,
I did the same thing to my Wife's '05 Camry. I used (2) 1" unthreaded PVC plugs from Home Depot. Has a bit of a growl now!

Of course the seat of the pants response says of course its faster, but seriously, I think you can tell a little better throttle response especially on the top end.

Honestly it sounds a little loud the way I drive, I have a pretty heavy foot though. In just normal criving conditions, its not that much different, but you can still feel the throttle response, at WOT, its loud enough to almost disrupt conversation in my Cab. Of course my D-Cab Taco is LOUD as crap in the cab anyway, what with road noise and wind noise. But under normal to slightly spirited driving its not terribly loud, but at WOT when you are ON IT, its pretty loud!!

By the time I actually get the money you will prolly say screw it and put it on your truck...
Oh how I dream...
My mom would be like "What kinda son have I raised....?"
Stepdad will go "You don't have a V8 under there, why do you insist on being like every other poser on the road..."

My response to mom...
"You raised a gear head..."
My response to stepdad
"Those posers only wish they had the power along with that sound... I know what power I have!!"
