97 sas swap
I know this has prob been talked about already but I’m having trouble finding a waggy 44 for my swap and I found a yota axle but won’t work due to being a passenger side drop also my 97 is and auto I have a 5 speed trans is like to swap into it but I was reading that some 2.7s weren’t drill to except a poilet bearing and info on both ideas?

Trailgear, Diamond, and ruffstuff akk make housing. I'd stay with yota axles. Or I'd go Dana 60.
Reasons: 1 strength a built yota axle is every bit as strong as a stock dana 60. I don't know of a way to build a D44 to stiffen differential to prevent ring deflection.
2 If you go only dana in front your limited to 4.88 as lowest gear ratio. Though I've read of ppl running 5.38 front and 5.29 rear but was on trail only rigs and still sounds bad to me.
If I were you I'd not convert the 4wd. I would do a 2wd taco. This will offset price of buying axles and will give better up travel of front axle. Down side 2wd taco has 2rz motor unless you get a pre-runner but that steps up the price tag.

Huntingdon and I have a little bit the prices are pretty high and don’t have that much to spend on an axle. Also I go wheeling a good bit but it get drove to where me and my buddies wheel so a full length 60 is out of the question the lesson I want a waggy 44 is cause of the length right? Also hearing I only want 4:10s

Some are flipping land cruiser axles.
I'm just not a fan of D44. Either yota or tons.
Why do you want to SAS? Would it be better to stay IFS and put money in other places on your rig? If you SAS there is a possibility that front driveline angle will be too steep thus dual cases will be need to relax angle. Then look for a front axle. SAS is a labor and money intensive mod so take your time and do your research. Would suck to do swap only to find out you can use 4wd only under 5mph.

I get it. I'm an SAS guy. I hated the IFS teeter totter; Man did I use to have to pull seat cushion out of my crack. Believe me you can build an IFS that will stun jeepers. Theres things you can do with IFS to maximize its capabilities: locker, low profile bumpstops, dual cases, swaybar (remove/quick disconnect). For a front locker you'll need to research selectable or auto locker with locking hubs.
This will buy you time to plan and collect parts to do SAS and build it strong. Then you can sell the IFS parts to help offset the cost of SAS. This will help you learn and increase skilz both of wrenching and wheeling.
Besides SASing you taco will potentially hurt resale ability. I've had my rig 12 years and have no intent of selling it. This is especially true if potential buyers know what they are looking at in an SAS'd rig.
