96 4x4 rear end sag - replacing springs which shocks?
Howdy
I did the searching and I "think" I have some decisions made, but where I get lost is selecting shocks.
I have a 96 Auto 4x4 4runner (96k mi) - it is mainly the "wife's" car. I take it on some trips, mostly on crappy dirt roads in Baja, no crawling. The rear end has quite a sag, so I am going to replace the springs. I looked and the OME and OEM (tundra) lifts lift the vechicle more than I am looking for. I did a OME lift on my 89 LC, and she was "shocked" at how "tall" it is now. The tires are new 265/75/16, so I really don't want to lift it and do the big tire thing.
Based on posts, I think I am going to replace the rear springs to stock 99 4x4 4runner springs.
The shocks are shot, so I also want to replace them as well. What are the recommendations for essentially stock replacement setup?
Thanks in advance
-Jack

For an "essentially stock replacement setup" for your shocks go with the Monroe Sensatracs. They have a lifetime warranty and will perform much better than stock for typical driving (mostly highway with occasional light to medium off-road). I can get you the part numbers if you want.
