just a thought for the rust spots on the top, get all the rust off get some rust stop to stop it, then put the roof rack back on and clear silicone around the bottom edges to seal it until u decide if u want to spend the money on roof repair or call it good,

 

Thank you justin. Im going to take off the roof rack, clean all the rust, not sure if im using bondo or fiberglass bondo, paint it and call it good... Im looking for a friend of mine that do body work to see how much he would charger me to do it.

 

That other smaller plug is for the antenna in the rear passenger window (which is actually pretty good all by itself). Rockslide did a write up on how to convert them and put a switch for the power antenna, then it only needs to go up when you want it to. It comes in handy when wheeling around trees or at carwashes. I bought my 4runner with the power antenna missing but after hooking the rear one up I'm not in too big of a hurry to buy one. I get radio stations from 90 miles away. Good luck with the rest of the stereo.

Does anybody makes a 3 inch body lift kit? All I find is 2 inch!!!! Im planning on buying a 3 inch suspension and I want a 3 inch bodh lift so I have 6 inch...

If you're trying to run a bigger tire, it can be done correctly with less than 6 inches of lift.

When I get as far as a lift, this is what I'll be going with. I won't be going to 35's though so I won't need the body lift. Some folks on this board are anti-body lift. I'm not one of them, it just won't be necessary for me as I have no plan to go to 35's. Good luck.

soo I guess my water pump just give up on me after all!!!!!! I has been leaking overnights but very little and today it looks this bad.... I have search many tread and they all talk about doing the whole timing belt job.. Im wondering if you I only change the pump without taking everything off?.. also, I installed my new stereo... a pioneer avh p1400... pretty nice one..

 

hi everyone!!! I have a question about the water pump and timing belt kit from rockauto... are this kits good? I check different websites for prices and $100 to $150 different is a lot.....

 

I got that kit at 210k, now at 240k. Everything is working as it should. The kit with the Aisin water pump is rumored to be an oem water pump according to other threads and forums.

 

ok, I have a new problems friends. the oil light on my 4runner starting to flash. the first day when started, I check the oil and was a little low, so I put some. went for a drive and it keep flashing but I realized it only happened when im driving in a bumping road..... here is a video. Also, I am replacing the water pump and timing belt. So I was able to check the oil pressure sensor cable and it looks ok... I am pretty sure that is the sensor that is right next to the oil filter.... What else should I check while I have the 4runner parked to fix this problem?

 

I looked at rockauto for the timing belt kit for your truck but it seems they dont have aisin, the only decent kit i see there is Gates, but I ordered a Gates kit not too long ago and i was surprised to see a china made water pump with japan and american made parts (I didn't want to risk having the pump go out on me and having to do the timing belt all over again) so I found an Aisin kit on Autohausaz.com, thats where i go if i dont like the parts offered in rockauto and autohaus is free shipping on $50 and up orders. Aisin is oem for toyotas so the quality is there.

 

Soo a little update. I replace the oil pressure sensor and I still have the some issue. any suggestion? please

I'm a little late to the game with your TB/Water Pump issue, but this kit has OEM parts and a lot of good reviews.

 

Man, if your looking for stuff to do to your rig, you might try and make yourself a roof rack. I made mine and it works fine, and i paid like 20 bucks for all the parts. no welding, just screws. Its a great thing to blow some time on, ya know?

 

Looks good! You sure got a deal. Did you ever fix the roof? What I was thinking as I was reading is the same as you seem to have decided: grind rust, rust converter paint and Bondo glass. I will add that you could get a piece of fiberglass mat - it comes folded in a bag next to the other Bondo products- and cut small pieces, wet them with the Bondo glass and jam it anywhere you have a hole. If you end up needing paint there's an on line company that will match factory and put it in a spray can:
