95 3 liter 4runner problem
i have a 95 3 liter 4runner 4x4 that i bought about 6 months ago. i have 220,000 miles on it. it has been misfiring since i bought it. i replaced the spark plugs and wires. the drivers side plug closest to the firewall was grimy, not dry like the rest. when i start the truck i smell gas for the first few minutes. i also only get about 13 miles per gallon. is this a sign of a bad fuel injector? it looks like they run about 150 bucks. how hard would it be to replace? thanks for any help. i am new to the forum and i have really enjoyed looking around. i live in fort worth and wish i could have seen all those trucks that went to mineral wells.

i forgot
there was a compression test done before i bought it and it had low compression on that one. if it is a burnt valve would it be something easily fixed? how do you go about doing that? if i have to take it in how much should it cost since i know which valve needs to be replaced? is there a reason that the valve would burn out? is there something else that needs to be fixed that caused the valve to burn out?
thanks so much for your input

best to do them all the heads will have to come off. not sure on the price i do all my own work and all mechanics charge differently. best thing to do is call around and find someone to do a leakdown test on the rest of the cylinders to see if they need work.

i had the same problem on my 91, turned out i have one totally dead clynder and 2 more failing due to burnt valves. i had mine worked on at the dealer, after rebuilding both heads and replacing a few bolts and the egr system it totalled a little over $3,000
