92 Runner: Installing a new Headlight

undefined

Hey guys,

I'm going to be installing a new passanger headlight unit in my 92 4runner. How hard is this to do? What all do I need to remove to get the old one out and the new one in?

Thanks,

Tim

On my '93 4Runner you remove the grill and unscrew the headlight assembly, 4 screws I think. Fairly easy to do. Your 92 should be the same.

BTW which Vancouver are you in.

yeah, the hardest part will be taking the grill off. if i remember correctly, you have to take your corner lights off first and then find all the clips on the grill. push the little tabs down and get a long flathead screwdriver for the ones that are between the bumper and the grill. there is a little gap between the bumper and the grill. these are the most comonly forgotten clips. good luck, hope ya have fun!

Thanks for the info!

To answer your question I'm in the same Vancouver that you are next to. Have you found any good places for parts in the lower mainland?

later,

Tim

On my 92 truck, I used a dremel and notched the grill so I can reach the retaining ring screws easily without removing the grill. Just a thought.

I tend to get most stuff from the dealer, I like to use Toyota parts. The prices generally are not much more than aftermarket and you know they'll fit. Otherwise Lordco has fairly good prices, and can get most things the same day.
