my friend is having trouble with his 89 4runner manual trans. it doesnt want to shift in 4wd. the stick only jiggles a little but we cant get it into 4wd. ive pulled off the stick cover and checked from there all the way to the linkage to the transfer case. nothing blocking there. i assume its something wrong inside the transfer case. anyone else have this problem? is there anything we can do short of dropping the whole tranny? thanks

 

Does he have maunal hubbs? Need to stop the truck...put in park...lock hubs...put in 4x4 and go.
