86 Truck??

Hey guys,
I hope it is o.k. to post this. I did a search, but didn't come up with what I was looking for. If you guys know of a thread, and can link it that'd be great, and I won't waste your time.

Anyways...

I found a 86 P/U 4X4. Extended cab. Rebuilt Engine and Tranny w/ about 30,000 mi. (132,000 orig.) The body is almost perfect. Paint is glossy and only has a couple of very light scratches. New exhaust, clutch, belts, and headers. Interior is clean and only has a little wear. It even has the cool tach gage on the steering colum . The guy wants 3500.00 for it. First off, I thought this was a good price, what about you guys? Next...how hard is it to mod these babys for wheeling. I know it is IFS, but is moding these a PITA? Thanks guys!! Yota Tech ROCKS!!

The price may be a shade high. But maybe not post some pics. As far as the mods go they are far from being a PITA. Especially with the quality of help you can get from the guys on this forum. These trucks are already nicely setup for offroading.

Sorry, I don't have any pics to post. It is in really good condition though. No dents, orig paint is smooth and still pretty glossy. I forgot to mention that is has a custom front bumper w/driving lights (small) in it.

price might be a shade high... but if there are no problems and its not rusted out anywhere and depending on where you live it might be decent... they are mod friendly even with ifs.....

Thanks guys. What would be a fair price? I haven't tried to haggle with the guy yet. Any ball park figures to keep in mind when I do?

Get him somewhere below 3,000. But it also depends on where you live. I got my 1987 Turbo with a tiny spot of rust with 140,000 miles but the paint isn't that great for 2,000. But it sounds like an awesome truck.
