6 lug to 5. Possible?

My fiances dad just bought a class 8 Baja truck for Baja 500 in June. He got sponsered by Goodyear and he has about 4 sets of wheels and tires he doesn't need and he said I could have.(Mickey Tompson Baja Claw 35", Pro Comp Extertian 35", and two others I forget) He said I could have them but the wheels are 5 lug. Is there a kit or some way to convert my 6 lug to 5 lug without spending too much $$?

BTW, I have a 95 Auto v-6

I don't think there is a way to change a 6 lug to a 5 lug easily.

i would just buy some cheap steel wheels, and sell the 5-lug wheels to get your money back

I thought about that, but the wheels are beadlocked.

I don't think you can legally drive beadlocks on the road. At least that was the case in CA. Maybe you could try selling them on Pirate.

I thought they made this universal adapter thing, where you could plug a 6 lug wheel onto a 5 plug rim, and one for vise versa.

Check with the people that make these ourageous 22", 24", 26" rims. For some of these wheels I know they come with universal adaptors. good luck

They are all 35s. Who knows, maybe I'll have a Yotatech give away or something. What in the world would I do with 4 sets?

You could sell all 4 sets of wheels and you would have enough for one REALLY nice set of beadlocks that actually fit your truck.

Yes, there is a way. There is something like this: http://www.protrux.net/products/acce...cers/index.htm

that goes on your 6 lugs, but only has 5 lugs on it. Don't know where to find one though.

there might be an easy way to switch to 5 lug. go look at the Lexus LX 470, im sure that since its a toyota product you might be able to easily swap the hubs to make your rig 5 lug. really thats the only toyota truck that i know of besides the 2wd tacos or compact trucks that are 5 lug.

you sure can---there has always been a way to switch the nissan 6 lug trucks to toyota 5 lug just by getting a kit that switched the discs. in fact, why dont you try the easy way and get some 5 lug 2wd toyota parts and see if they just pop right on there.

Here are some links for you all...adaptors are everywhere these days. Truckin Magazine has a great connection as well, I would call them first. I dont have their mag here, but if you flip thru any copy, you'll see the add. Links below:

http://www.balancemachine.com/wheel_...el_spacers.asp

http://www.newsales.com/wheels/index.html

http://www.performancewheel.com/Index_Adapt.cfm

Those are just a few...run a search and you will get endless results. I think Wheeler's Off-Road in OR even carries some.

Good Luck.

Many lexus parts while looking the same don't switch over. I had purchased the leather/wood steering wheel from an LX470 and tried to fit it on the runner. But while it did line up into the grooves on the steering shaft. The wiring schematics was completely different for the cruise control (even though the outside switch is the same). There were a couple of other things as well, bu this is just one quick example

No, the Lexus and Land Cruiser 5 lug will not help because they have a unique bolt pattern. They are 5X150mm, and no other vehicles use this pattern. What you will nee to find out is what the bolt pattern is on the 5 lugger and then go buy a set of adaptors to convert you 6X5.5 to the 5 lug pattern. However, this is only a band- aid solution since these adaptor are made for street cruising, not rock climbing so they have the tendencies to break under stress. Also, a true beadlock wheel is illegal for street use. As I recall when I was working in the wheel industry, a set of these adaptor can be purchased from any wheel accessories shop. They cost about $50 a piece from the wholesaler plus any profits tack onto them by the shops. Hope this helps.
