On my old 5vz engine the oil filter is under the alternator and then the oil cooler is next to transmission. On the JDM Engine I just got the oil filter is by the transmission and no oil cooler just a cap. Do I need a oil cooler for my new JDM engine.

You should be able to remove the cap, install your new oil filter, and then swap your cooler assembly over to the new engine.
